Rhonda Baker~Founder/Designer
I am originally from Brooklyn NY, but now reside in the sunny state of Florence SC. I am happily
married, a proud mother of three sons and seven grandchildren.
I always had a passion for fashion while growing up in NYC. As a child, my mother dressed my
brother and I so stylish. We were the best dressed kids in the neighborhood. Also I was
influenced by my father who taught himself how to sew while working full time as a police officer.
That was my first exposure to fashion. But as I got older, I became a very curvier young lady.
Even with my sense of style for fashion, being a woman of a particular size, great fashion didn't
accommodate me. It was always challenging to find beautiful clothes for a plus size figure.

As the years went by, women started to be recognized for their beauty no matter what size, but
the Fashion Industry still has fallen short to design stylish and beautiful clothes for the everyday
Plus Size Woman. We still have a way to go.
My knowledge of fashion started when I attended Fashion Industries High School in New York
City. Over the years, I worked as a Retail Manager for Macy’s Department Store and managed
various departments such as Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Sean John, Dereon, Ralpn Lauren, and
Micheal Kors to name a few. I was able to be a part of the work of great designers but that was
not enough for me. I wanted to be a part of the Fashion Industry and make a difference. I can
remember at the age of 14, I always said that I didn’t want to work for anybody. I wanted my

remember at the age of 14, I always said that I didn’t want to work for anybody. I wanted my
own business. I felt stuck at a job that I hated! But finally, I stepped out on faith, and quit my
job. I felted so good walking out that door.
I have an extreme passion for the bridal industry. Every woman should look her absolute best on
the most special day of her life. Wedding gowns are made for smaller women while larger size
dresses are not as flattering to our curves. This is why I decide to design dresses for plus size
women that will not only fit properly but stand out from smaller size women.
Thanks to the support of my husband and now grown children. Because of them, I was able to
put the wheels in motion to pursue my passion of being a fashion designer.
